Paris and the Golden Apple

Paris, brother of Hector and song of King Priam, was a Trojan prince. His judgement of which goddess was the fairest sparked the Trojan war. When presented with bribes of war success, regality, and the most beautiful woman in the world, he chose the later, and Aphrodite gave him Helen. Through the book, he is presented as a lover, not a fighter. His beauty and charm, and his cowardice and unwillingness to fight, give him a negative reputation among the Trojan forces. After the events of the Iliad take place, he avenges Hector's death and kills Achilles with an arrow shot to the heel.
